Will my sessions be covered?
Many employers with extended health plans offer counselling coverage. Check with your insurance provider / employer to determine what benefits are covered. After every session, I will provide you with an invoice with my registration number for reimbursement submission (where applicable).
How long are the sessions?
You can choose between 1 hour or 1.5 hours in length. We can review what will be most beneficial to you during the initial consultation.
Is what I tell you completely confidential?
Information shared in a counselling relationship is confidential however, there are areas where this confidentiality is limited.
Exceptions To Confidentiality:
Your counsellor may consult with other counselling professionals to provide the best possible care for you. These consultations are for strictly professional and training purposes. Your identity will never be disclosed in these consultations.
If you express any clear evidence of imminent danger of harm to yourself and/or others, a counsellor is legally required to report this information to the local authorities.
A court order, such as a subpoena issued by a judge, may require a release of information contained in client records and/or require a counsellor to testify in a court hearing.
You have given written permission to share confidential information with another person, such as a family member, friend or medical practitioner.
Do you offer a sliding scale?
Yes, my goal is to offer support to anyone in need. I review all sliding scale requests on an individual basis.
